At the first meeting of the school board since four new members were elected, fifth-district board member W.J. (Dub) Evins, III was named the new Chairman of the Board of Education. Evins takes over from former second-district member Charlie Robinson, who lost his bid for reelection. Members voted unanimously to approve Evins as chairman at Thursday night’s regular monthly meeting of the board.
