At the first meeting of the school board since four new members were elected, fifth-district board member W.J. (Dub) Evins, III was named the new Chairman of the Board of Education. Evins takes over from former second-district member Charlie Robinson, who lost his bid for reelection. Members voted unanimously to approve Evins as chairman at Thursday night’s regular monthly meeting of the board. To complete the board’s yearly reorganization, sixth-district member Doug Stephens was chosen as vice chairman and seventh-district member Shaun Tubbs was named assistant secretary. The board consists of Danny Parkerson, first district, Jerry Wayne Johnson, second district, Jim Beshearse, third district, Billy Miller, fourth district, W.J. (Dub) Evins, III, fifth district, Doug Stephens, sixth district, and Shaun Tubbs, seventh district.
