Smithville police arrested a 35-year-old local man and charged him with possession of Schedule II for resale and possession of drug paraphernalia after an investigation allegedly revealed meth and paraphernalia in his home on June 16.

Eddy Deloyd Farris was taken into custody after police investigating a drug complaint on Jennings Lane reportedly found him hiding under a mattress inside the residence.  Central Dispatch informed officers that Farris had active warrants, and a search of the area near where Farris was found led officers to recover a black camera case containing a baggie with a white, crystallized substance believed to be meth, weighing approximately 7 grams, a burnt glass straw with a copper filter, a set of scales, a burnt light bulb configured with a straw coming out of the end, a spoon with a white substance melted onto it, and a loaded syringe with a white substance inside.

His bond was set at $6,500, and he will appear in court on June 30.

Upon being arrested, police said Jackson became uncooperative and resistant, as she started yelling, kicking, and pulling away from officers.  Officers reportedly gave several verbal warnings to Jackson to stop resisting and calm down, however Jackson continued to resist arrest.

According to the warrant, police responded to the ER to speak with Wheeler, who was fidgety, constantly scratching all over her body, could not sit still or focus, and paranoid.  The ER medically cleared her, but indicated she was exhibiting signs of methamphetamine intoxication.

Police reportedly gave Wheeler a ride home, where she refused to stay due to her paranoia. As there was no place for Wheeler to go and due to her being a danger to herself, Wheeler was arrested for public intoxication.
