A father and son were charged with aggravated assault after the sheriff’s department was called to a investigate disturbance on Oct. 2.
According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, Clinton Lane Cope, 24, and his father, 52-year-old Timothy Lane Cope were charged with aggravated assault. Timothy Cope was charged with disorderly conduct as well.
Ray said a deputy dispatched to the home of Clinton Cope spoke with two people in the home who said that both Timothy and Clinton Cope had awakened them violently. Timothy Cope was allegedly swinging a baseball bat at one person in the home, while Clinton Cope was swinging his fists.
After questioning everyone at the residence and observing the behavior of both Copes, the two men were placed under arrest.
Disorderly conduct was added to Timothy Cope’s charges when he allegedly refused to comply with the deputy's orders to go outside the residence and wait. Ray said Cope initially went outside, but came back into the home and began shouting.
The officer reportedly sent Cope outside a second time, but Ray said he came back in a second time.
Bond for Clinton Cope was set at $2,500. Timothy Cope's bond was set at $4,000. Both men will appear in court on Oct. 10.

Ray said Matthews was checked locally to determine if he had a valid drivers' license, and it was revealed that Matthews had an active arrest warrant against him in Morgan County Indiana for failure to appear. The Morgan County, Indiana Sheriff's Department reportedly plans to seek extradition.
He is being held without bond, and he is set to appear in court on Oct. 10.

He reportedly admitted to driving through the complainant's yard. Ray said Alvis submitted to, but performed poorly on, all field sobriety tasks.
His bond was set at $2,500, and he will appear in court on Oct. 10.
