Ferrell arrested twice for assault

Douglas Ray Ferrell, 49, was arrested on May 4 and charged with aggravated assault.

 

Acoording to Sheriff Patrick Ray, a deputy was dispatched to A Midway Road home to check out reports of a domestic assault. An investigation allegedly revealed that Ferrell had hit his son on the head with a hammer, and then chased him with a metal pole, trying to hit him again.

 

His bond was set at $4,000, and he will appear in court on May 19

 

Ferrell was arrested again on May 7, this time for assault and resisting stop, frisk, halt, arrest, or search.

 

Ray said a deputy responding to the same Midway road home to check out a possible domestic assault was speaking with the caller when Ferrell ran out of his residence with a wire plant hanger and charged toward the deputy.

 

Ferrell allegedly drew the hanger back as if he was going to strike the deputy and was instructed several times to return to his residence before throwing the hanger to the ground and approaching the officer with his fists raised and in a fighting stance.

 

The deputy was required to use physical force to take Ferrell into custody.

 

His bond on these charges was set at $7,000, and he will appear in court on May 19.

 

Meanwhile, 22-year-old Lee Allen Ferrell was arrested for domestic assault on May 6.

 

A deputy responding to reports of a domestic situation on Midway Road spoke to Ferrell and a female. Ferrell was determined to be the primary aggressor, kicking the victim about the face and neck, leaving marks on her face and causing her to fear for her safety.

 

His bond was set at $4,000 and he will appear in court on May 26.

 

Timothy Dwayne Johns, 43, was arrested for domestic assault on May 7.

 

The sheriff said a deputy dispatched to New Hope Road in Alexandria to investigate reports of a domestic assault involving a gun made contact with the alleged victim, who had a knot on her left brow and several scrapes and red marks on her legs and knees. She also reportedly had a red mark on her neck.

 

The victim reportedly stated that Johns held a gun to her head, then stuck it in her mouth, saying that he should just kill her. He allegedly choked the woman multiple times while striking her about the head and body, and ripped most of her clothing off during the assault

 

His bond was set at $5,000, and he will appear in court on May 12.

 

Franklin Jared Prater, 18, of Sparta was arrested for assault on May 7.

 

Prater allegedly assaulted a staff member at the Indian Mound Boy’s home, striking the victim in the face with his fist. Prater allegedly admitted to hitting the victim in order to get out of the Department of Children’s Services custody.

 

His bond was set at $2,500, and he will appear in court on May 12.

 

Dakota Stith, 23, of McMinnville was arrested and charged with theft over $1,000 on May b2.

 

Stith is accused of taking a 2001 Chevy S-10 pickup without the owner’s consent on April 29. The sheriff said Stith was later found in possession of the vehicle during an investigation by a sheriff’s department detective.

 

His bond was set at $5,000, and he will appear in court on May 12.

 

Amanda Brooke Washer, 28, was arrested and charged with evading arrest on May 3, as well as being cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

Washer allegedly fled from law enforcement officers, running from them while they were attempting to serve an arrest warrant on her. Ray said she had to be forcefully taken into custody.

 

A search of her belongings allegedly revealed two spoons with residue on them that field tested positive for cocaine, two used hypodermic needles, two lighters, and tissue paper.

 

Her bond was set at $2,500, and she will appear in court on May 12.
