DeKalb County Volunteer Fire Department is the number-one all-volunteer fire department in the state of Tennessee for 2017-2018 training achievement. Of the 732 fire departments in Tennessee, both volunteer and paid, DeKalb County Fire Department ranked number 15 for 2017-18 training achievement. Jeff Elliot, Fire Service Program Director at the Tennessee Fire Service and Codes Enforcement Academy, presented this training achievement award to the department’s officers Monday evening at the DeKalb County Commissioner’s meeting.
