A fire at Edgar Evins Marina last Wednesday consumed a house boat, a pontoon, and the dock’s fuel island. Members of the family who owned the houseboat told the Review that the fire began while the craft was being filled with fuel, and that several people, including their 90-year-old grandfather, were on board, but escaped safely, with some suffering minor smoke inhalation, before the boat was fully engulfed. The pontoon boat was apparently tied to the island unoccupied, and reportedly belonged to the marina.
