The DeKalb Firefighter's Association has announced its endorsement of candidates for county mayor and the county commission in the Aug. 7 general election.

The association recently sent surveys to all candidates for county mayor and county commission. According to the association, the survey contained questions pertaining to public safety in DeKalb County.

The deadline for returning the survey was June 16 to return their surveys, and the following candidates returned their surveys have met approval for endorsement:

*County Mayor: Chris Bratcher, Chris Smithson, and Tim Stribling.

*Commissioners:

District 1-Mason Carter, Elmer Ellis, Jr.

District 2-Joe Johnson, Jimmy Midgett, Clarence Trapp

District 3-Jack Barton

District 4-Wayne Cantrell

District 5-Rick Cantrell, Anita Puckett

District 6-Betty Atnip

"Not all candidates submitted a response to our survey. This is not a reflection that they do not support public safety," the association said.
