A 14-year-old boy was injured Sunday afternoon when his four-wheeler was struck by a car in Dowelltown sunday.The boy, Caleb Gingrich, was reportedly hit when he darted out in front of a vehicle driven by 62-year-old Joe Johnson on main Street in Dowelltown.Central dispatch received the call at 12:36 p.m.Authorities said that Gingrich pulled out of tall weeds on his 90cc ATV and struck Johnson’s 2005 Lincoln LS in the right front corner.Neither Johnson nor his wife Marie, who was a passenger in the Lincoln, were injured.According to family members, the boy was airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center’s Pediatric Intensive Care unit with a broken left femur, a broken jaw, badly bruised lungs, a fractured right elbow, three broken ribs and a concussion.
