A Baxter woman has been arrested by the sheriff’s department and charged with assaulting her mother.
Crystal Michelle Harville, 34, was charged with domestic assault on Sept. 5.
According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, a deputy called to a Ponder Road home spoke to Harville’s mother, who told him that her daughter became upset because she would not give her money. She said that Harville then assaulted her by pulling her hair, slapping her face, and hitting her on the chest, leaving red marks. Harville was determined to have been the primary aggressor.
Her bond was set at $3,000 and she will appear in court on Oct. 13.
Jeffrey Miller, 41, was charged with filing a false report on Sept. 9.
The sheriff said Miller filed a report with the sheriff’s department claiming that he was driving in his silver Cadillac sedan on Highway 56 South when his female passenger pulled a handgun from her purse and pointed it at him.
Miller allegedly said that he jumped out of the car at Whorton Springs Church and watched as the woman drove away toward town. The vehicle was later found at another church south of Whorton Springs. When questioned by officers, Miller admitted that he had fabricated the story because he did not want to go through civil court.
His bond was set at $5,000, and he will appear in court on Oct. 6.
Patrick Jarome O’Conner, 53, of Alexandria was charged with driving under the influence on Sept. 24. His bond is $1,500 and his court date is October 27.
Ray said a deputy was dispatched to a Lower Helton Road vehicle accident spoke with O’Conner and found him to have an odor of an alcoholic beverage on his person. He admitted to having consumed four beers prior to driving.
O’Conner reportedly performed poorly on field sobriety tasks, and submitted to a blood test.
His bond was set at $1,500 and he will appear in court on Oct. 27.
Shawn Earl Edwards, 24, of Oak Glenn Drive, Smithville was charged with resisting stop, frisk, halt, arrest, or search on Sept. 25.
The sheriff said a deputy called to a Holmes Creek Road home to investigate a possible domestic spotted Edwards running through the weeds. The officer ordered him to stop, but he reportedly jumped a fence and kept running. Edwards was taken into custody after he tripped.
His bond was set at $1,500, and he will appear in court on Oct. 27.
Marina G. Cornett, 39, was cited for simple possession of a Schedule IV drug and possession of drug paraphernalia on sept. 12.
Ray said a detective conducting a probation search at Cornett’s residence found several pipes, grinders, and bongs along with a one milligram Alprazolam (Xanax) pill.
Cornett’s court date was set for Oct. 6.
Jackie Mark Mullican, 54, was cited for possession of a schedule IV drug (Xanax). Sheriff Ray said that on Monday, September 12 a detective found six blue oval pills on Mullican’s person while conducting a probation search.
Mullican’s court date was set for Oct. 6.
Timothy Ross Stoglin, 50, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine on Sept 19.
Sheriff Ray said officers conducting a parole search of Stoglin and found 0.3 grams of meth, along with several pipes in his vehicle.
Stoglin’s court date was set for Oct. 6.
