Jacob Fisher Murphy, 20, was charged with vandalism on July 17.
According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, Murphy pulled a TV off the wall in the jail annex cell area while incarcerated at the facility and threw it on the floor, damage to the device. The incident was reportedly captured on surveillance video.
His bond is $2,500 and his court date is Aug. 3.
Meanwhile, 22-year-old Joseph Bradley Allen was charged with aggravated assault (domestic related) on July 17.
Ray said a deputy and detective responded to a home on Old Snow Hill Road to check out reports of a physical domestic. They allegedly spoke with Allen and a woman who told them that Allen pushed her down on the bed and tried to strangle her during an argument.
She reportedly kicked him while trying to get away, but he pushed her onto a couch and held her by the throat, demanding that she turn over his keys. Allen then allegedly hit the woman on the side of her face with his open hand causing injury to her ear and lip.
His bond is $5,000 and his court date is Aug. 3.
Destry Jordan Wiggins, 24, was charged with domestic assault on July 17.
The sheriff said that Wiggins assaulted his girlfriend at their home during an argument by hitting her on the face. Physical injury to her face was reportedly evident. The case was investigated by a detective.
His bond is $3,500 and his court date is Aug. 3.
Angela Quovodas Tubbs, 50, was charged with domestic assault on July 21.
Ray said a deputy was dispatched to a residence on Allen Chapel Road for a possible domestic. The lawman spoke with Tubbs, who reportedly told him that she and her husband had gotten into an argument, and that he wouldn’t let her back in the house.
While the officer was speaking to him, Tubbs allegedly came into the room yelling at her husband and smacked him in the face. Tubbs was placed under arrest.
Her bond is $5,000 and her court date is Aug. 3.
Gregory Brian West, 39, of Rock Island is charged with a second offense of driving under the influence on July 22.
The sheriff reported that a vehicle pulled up next to a sheriff’s department patrol car on McMinnville Highway and the driver told the deputy that a black Honda car had swerved into his lane and almost hit him head-on. The deputy spotted the Honda on McMinnville Highway and noticed that it had failed to maintain its lane of travel.
The officer stopped the car and spoke with the driver, West. His eyes were reportedly bloodshot and watery. West submitted to, but performed poorly on, field sobriety tasks.
West has a second offense DUI charge pending in court against him. His next court date in that case is October 12.
His bond is $5,000 and his court date is Aug. 10.
Mario Perez Matias, 45, was charged with driving under the influence and a second offense of driving on a revoked license on July 22.
Ray said a deputy was traveling south on North Congress Boulevard when he noticed a vehicle failing to maintain its lane of travel. He stopped the automobile and spoke with the driver, Matias.
The officer allegedly noticed an odor of an alcoholic beverage about the man’s person, and his eyes were bloodshot and watery. Matias submitted to, but performed poorly on, field sobriety tasks.
A computer check revealed that Matias’ license were revoked for failure to file an accident report in DeKalb County. He has one prior driving on revoked offense in DeKalb County on June 18, 2015.
His bond is $5,500 and his court date is Aug. 10.
Christine Elizabeth Green, 61, of Sparta was charged with driving under the influence and cited for driving on roadways laned for travel on July 23.
The sheriff said that a deputy made a traffic stop on a gold GMC truck that crossed the center line and fog line once on the Sparta Highway. While speaking with the driver, Green, the officer noticed an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her person and her eyes were bloodshot and glossy. Green reportedly submitted to, but performed poorly on, field sobriety tasks.
Her bond is $2,500 and her court date is Aug. 3.
Inoel Delacruz, 36, of Murfreesboro was charged with driving under the influence and cited for failure to maintain his lane of travel and no insurance on July 16.
Ray said a deputy was dispatched to Highway 70 in reference to a reckless driver. The officer spotted a black Dodge Charger traveling west on Highway 70, and noticed that it failed to maintain its lane of travel.
He stopped the car and spoke with the driver, Delacruz, who reportedly had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his person. Delacruz submitted to, but performed poorly on, field sobriety tasks. His eyes were reportedly bloodshot and, he was unsteady on his feet.
His bond is $1,500 and his court date is July 27.
Alejando Rivera, 52, was charged with driving under the influence on July 19.
The sheriff said that a deputy received a call from an off-duty officer who saw a blue Ford truck failing to maintain its lane of travel on Highway 56 heading south. The officer on duty responded and spoke with the driver, Rivera, who submitted to, but performed poorly on, field sobriety tasks.
His eyes were reportedly bloodshot, and he was unsteady on his feet. Rivera also had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his person. He allegedly admitted to having consumed approximately a six pack of an alcoholic beverage prior to his getting behind the wheel to drive.
His bond is $2,500 and his court date is Aug. 3.
