Two DeKalb County Jail inmates are charged with assault after they allegedly got into a fight last week while incarcerated.
According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, Dakota James Stith, 24, and 31-year-old Jordan Thomas Adams, while in custody at the jail, began fighting on Dec. 5.
Bond is $3,500 each, and they will both appear in court on Dec. 15.
Meanwhile, Michael Brandon Redmon, 32, a prisoner as well, was charged with vandalism on Dec. 9 after allegedly damaged a patrol car while being transported on Oct. 28.
Ray said that while Redmon was being taken by local deputies from a dentist office in DeKalb County to the Fentress County Jail, where he is being housed, the man became angry and broke the passenger side back door glass of a patrol car. The cost to repair the vehicle was reportedly $745.
Redmon was charged on Dec. 9.
Richard Manuel Standridge, 45, of Alexandria was charged with a fourth offense of driving on a suspended license and cited for failure to display a license plate on his vehicle and for driving on roadways laned for travel on Dec. 11.
The sheriff said a deputy patrolling Banks Pisgah Road spotted a vehicle with no license plate crossing over the center line. After the lawman stopped the vehicle, driven by Standridge, a computer check revealed that Standridge’s license had been suspended in Athens Tennessee in 2003 for failure to appear.
His bond is $6,000, and his court date is January 5th.
Katelin Nicole Spivey, 20, of Liberty was charged with domestic assault on Dec. 11.
Ray said a man came to the sheriff’s office stating that he had been assaulted by Spivey, his ex-fiancé. The man was reportedly found to have scratches and bruises around his neck and chest area, and a scratch and bruise on his head. The victim told officers he feared for his life.
Her bond was set at $1,500, and her court date is Jan. 5.
