A Johnson Chapel man was charged with assaulting both his mother and girlfriend on Oct. 8.

According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, a deputy was dispatched to a Johnson Chapel Road home to check out an unwanted guest call, but while the officer was enroute, central dispatch informed him that the incident had escalated into a physical domestic incident.

Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with 35-year-old Anthony Doel Atnip's mother and girlfriend, who both said that Atnip had assaulted them. Atnip's mother said that he had shoved her and struck her in the face as he was trying to take the phone away from her.

Atnip allegedly struck his girlfriend in the head as she got in between him and his mother. Atnip reportedly left the residence before the deputy arrived on the scene, but was found hiding close by.

His bond was set at $2,500, and he will appear in court on Oct. 15.

Glenn Paul Bullington, 43, of Murfreesboro was charged with domestic assault on Oct. 4.

Ray said a deputy responded to a 911 call of a domestic assault in progress at a residence on Coconut Ridge Road. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with Bullington and his wife, who both appeared to be intoxicated.

The deputy determined that Bullington was the primary aggressor. The woman had physical signs of an assault, including a cut on her nose, redness on her neck, and bruising on her right arm where she claimed her husband had grabbed and pushed her. Bullington’s bond was set at $3,500, and he will appear in court on Oct. 29.
