Lawrence airlifted after rollover
Photo courtesy Sparta Expositor/Pamela Claytor A 74-year-old Smithville man was airlifted after his log truck overturned on Hickory Valley Road in White County just after 1 p.m. on Oct. 9. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Luther Lawrence was extricated from the wreck of his 1996 Peterbilt by the Sparta-White County Rescue Squad and taken by White County EMS to meet a UT Knoxville Life Saver chopper to be treated for serious injuries. The White County Sheriffs Department, Sparta-White County Rescue Squad, Hickory Valley Fire Department, Central View Volunteer Fire Department, Mt. Gilead Volunteer Fire Department, White County EMS and White County Emergency Management Agency responded to the scene.
