James Travis Adams, 33, of Lebanon was charged with driving under the influence, along with three counts of reckless endangerment, as well as being issued a citation for driving on roadways laned for traffic on Feb. 1.
Ray said deputy on patrol saw a red Jeep approaching him in the wrong lane. The vehicle reportedly crossed the center line of the highway and almost hit the officer head on. The officer turned around and pursued the Jeep, and said he witnessed it cross the center line several more times.
Upon stopping the vehicle and speaking with the driver, Adams, The lawman allegedly noticed an odor of alcohol, and that the driver’s speech was slurred. Adams' 10 and seven-year-old daughters, along with his six-year-old son, were found to be his passengers. Adams reportedly admitted to drinking, and performed poorly on field sobriety tasks. He submitted to a blood test.
His bond was set at $6,000 and he will appear in court on March 26.
A 31-year-old Dowelltown man faces five counts of fraudulent use of a debit or credit card after he allegedly used a family member's debit card without permission on five different occasions in November.
According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, Walden is accused of using a purloined card to withdraw $500 on Nov. 8 and 9, and $200 on Nov. 11 from a local bank, then to purchase gas for $40.03 and $28 at a convenience store on South Congress Boulevard on Nov. 13,
He was arrested on January 26, and his bond was set at $17,500.
Joseph Matthew Giles, II, 22, was charged with theft of property under $500 on Jan. 31.
Giles allegedly took a PlayStation 2 and games valued at $435 from a residence on Jefferson Road on January 22 and placed them on a McMinnville on-line yard sale site for $50. Ray said the victim reported that the game was a family gift that was to remain in the home.
His bond was set at $2,500 and he will appear in court on Feb. 12.
Philando Darnell Fullilove, 27, of Alexandria was named in a Grand Jury sealed indictment and charged with two counts of sale and delivery of a Schedule II drug. He was taken into custody on Jan. 30.
His bond was set at $60,000, and he will be arraigned in criminal court on Feb.
Anthony Malcolm Sargent, 35, was charged with possession of a handgun while under the influence on
Feb. 2.
A deputy dispatched to a residence on Meridian Drive to investigate a domestic disturbance reportedly heard a voice coming from behind the home. The officer allegedly found Sargent sitting in the tree line with a strong odor of alcohol on his person.
Ray said an alcoholic beverage and a Raven Arms .25 caliber handgun were found where Sargent had been sitting. The gun was allegedly loaded with four rounds and one in the chamber. Sargent reportedly admitted to drinking and was placed under arrest.
His bond was set at $1,500 and he will appear in court on Feb. 26.
Martha Conger Hale, 34, was charged with driving under the influence and cited for having a headlight out and for violation of the implied consent law on Jan. 31.
Ray said a deputy spotted a black jeep driving on Sparta Highway with one headlight. He stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, Hale. Her eyes were allegedly bloodshot, and she reportedly had an odor of alcohol coming from her person.
She allegedly admitting to drinking during the day, and performed poorly on field sobriety tasks. She refused to submit to a blood test.
Her bond was set at $1,500 and she will appear in court on March 26.
David Allen Sloan, 35 of Alexandria was charged with driving under the influence and issued citations for failure to maintain his lane of travel and violation of the implied consent law on Feb. 1.
The sheriff said a deputy patrolling Highway 70 East saw a black Nissan swerving in and out of its lane. The officer stopped the car and spoke with the driver, Sloan who allegedly had a strong odor of alcohol on his person, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. Sloan reportedly performed poorly on field sobriety tasks and refused to submit to a blood test. He allegedly admitted to drinking and was placed under arrest.
He will appear in court on Feb. 26.
Aubrey Glenn Rigsby, 35, was recently cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and simple possession of a Schedule VI drug (marijuana).
The sheriff said a deputy stopped a vehicle matching the description of one that had left the scene of a fight, and Rigsby was found to be the driver. He was arrested on unrelated outstanding warrants.
A search of his vehicle allegedly revealed a small pack which containing spoons, needles, straws and .035 ounces of the illegal weed.
