Local Walmart to jump on wine bandwagon

The Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission has added the Smithville Walmart to the list of retail food stores in the state which have been approved for a license for off premises consumption. In 2014 Governor Bill Haslam signed a bill into law that allows wine sales in Tennessee grocery stores. There was a provision of the bill that allowed voters in individual cities and counties a referendum to decide on the issue locally.
