A 31-year-old local woman lost her life Wednesday morning in a one-vehicle crash on Old Blue Springs Road. According to Trooper Bobby Johnson of the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Tacy Hendrixson of Smithville was traveling north in a 1995 GMC pickup truck when she failed to negotiate a curve. The truck overturned, and Hendrixson was ejected before the vehicle hit a tree, coming to rest on its top with the victim underneath the truck. She was transported from the scene by DeKalb EMS, and pronounced dead at Saint Thomas DeKalb Hospital. Members of the DeKalb County Volunteer Fire Department and the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department assisted at the scene.
