A physician, speaker, and former chemist, Barbara Ebel's new book, third about fictional Tennessee neurosurgeon Dr. Danny Tilson novel – Collateral Circulation: a Medical Mystery is one of the top-selling books on Amazon.com.

Ebel’s writing draws heavily from her experience as an anesthesiologist, her dealings with family court, and her interactions with people and places from around the world. Ebel writes credible medicine into the background of her novels, and her O.R. scenes shine, so it's no wonder the first in her Dr. Danny Tilson Novels, Operation Neurosurgeon, was the top finalist for best-selling medical mystery books in 2012. The ranking derives its roster of bestsellers from sources such as Amazon and Goodreads, and uses readers' ratings, reviews and title sales for a blended score that creates each book's final rank. The second Dr. Danny Tilson novel Silent Fear: a Medical Mystery, launched in mid-March 2014.

In addition to her adult writing, she has illustrated and penned a children's book series called Chester the Chesapeake. The books developed during her philanthropic visits with her therapy dog, Chester. The dog books continue to inspire adults and children alike.

The series takes place in Tennessee. She has also written and illustrated a children’s book series about her therapy dog titled Chester the Chesapeake, another novel – Outcome, a Novel – and a health book, Younger Next Decade. "Doctor Barbara" lives in eastern DeKalb County, along with her husband and four pets.

Collateral Circulation has reached as high as number seven on the Amazon charts this week, and can be found as an eBook on Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble Nook, KOBO, and most online retailers.
