Hundreds of residents came out Friday to show support for the local effort to fight cancer. The theme for the 17th annual Relay for Life at Greenbrook Park was “Finish the Fight.”The opening ceremony included presentation of the Colors by Boy Scout Troop #347, and the program featured music and entertainment. Suzanne Slager performed the National Anthem, a welcome was provided by Renea Cantrell and Shelley Cross and Bonnie Rigsby sang a song in honor of cancer survivors.Survivors of the disease were presented with a medallion, and took the first lap around the park.The walking track was lined with luminaria in honor of those who have fought cancer as teams walked to raise money to help in the battle against cancer.
