Bro. David Mahan has been named director of missions for the Salem Baptist Association.The association consists of 33 churches in DeKalb and Cannon counties who work together on mission projects, focusing on evangelism.Mahan took the position at the beginning of July after serving as pastor of Whorton Springs Baptist Church for more than 11 years.“We had a great relationship at Whorton Springs,” Mahan told the Review. “It’s a wonderful church, and the Lord has blessed us tremendously there.”He said although he was happy in his position as pastor, he felt called to seek the spot with the Salem Baptist Association.“The Lord just led me to apply for the position, and that’s where we are today,” he said.“My last Sunday as pastor at Whorton Springs was the last Sunday in June.
