A 41-year-old local woman is facing five counts of fraudulent use of a credit or debit card after using a stolen card to get cash from an ATM at Walmart last month.
Sharon Joyce Malone allegedly used the stolen card a total of five times to obtain $201.75; $7.92; $177.07; $201.75; and $8.28. on August 7. According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, Malone was charged with five counts of fraudulent use of a credit or debit card after an investigation by a Sheriff's Department Detective.
Malone’s bond was set at $12,500, and she will appear in court on Sept. 24.
Mark Anthony Mason, 43, was charged with aggravated assault on Sept. 8.
Ray said Mason assaulted his sister by grabbing her around the neck and trying to strangle her, then allegedly threw her to the ground. Mason was determined to have been the primary aggressor. He was arrested and brought to the jail for booking.
His bond was set at $5,000, and he will appear in court on Sept. 24.
George Edward Taylor, Jr., 40, of Liberty was charged with being a fugitive from justice on Sept. 16.
The sheriff said deputies arrested Taylor for violation of probation and found him to have a warrant from Mississippi County, Missouri against him for failure to appear on an assisted attempted assault, drug charges, and a resisting arrest charge. As a result, a warrant was taken against Taylor for being a fugitive from justice.
His bond was set at $200,000, and he will appear in court on Sept. 24.
Jack Davis Taylor, Jr., 51, was charged with the domestic assault of his girlfriend and cited for an assault on his girlfriend's daughter on Sept. 19.
Ray said a deputy and a detective responded to a New Home Road residence for a physical domestic call. Upon arrival, they spoke with Taylor and his girlfriend, who told the officers that she and Taylor were arguing because Taylor had hit her daughter on the buttocks and forehead, causing swelling around her left eye.
Taylor allegedly hit his girlfriend in the mouth during the argument, knocking out a tooth, then pinned her down and beat her until he was pulled away.
His bond was set at $2,500 and he will appear in court on Sept. 24.
