A local man was taken into custody by the sheriff’s department last week after he allegedly assaulted his own mother and vandalized her property. Justin Matthew Cripps, 29, was charged with domestic assault and three counts of vandalism on April 27. Sheriff Patrick Ray a deputy responded to a Short Mountain Highway home for a possible domestic assault and vandalism.
