Man arrested for intent to sell pills

The sheriff’s department arrested a 37-year-old Smithville man on July 17 and seized his vehicle after he was allegedly found to be in possession of Dilaudid and Oxycodone for resale.

 

Jerry "Bugg" Goff was charged with one count each of possession of a Schedule II drug for resale.

 

According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, a sheriff's department detective and deputy went to Eastside Inn and spoke with Goff, who was sitting in a white Durango. The detective conducted a probation search of Goff and found a gold metal container in his left cargo pocket containing 48 pills believed to be Dilaudid. His right cargo pocket held a silver metal container with 19 pills thought to be Oxycodone.

 

Goff reportedly did not have a prescription for the pills, and he was placed under arrest. His Durango was also seized because it is believed to have been used to transport illegal narcotics for resale.

 

His bond was set at $50,000, and he will appear in court on August 27.

 

20-year-old Dillon Ray Mullican of McMinnville was charged with disorderly conduct on July 14.

 

Ray said a deputy was dispatched to Highway 70 east and Evins Mill Road to check out a report of two people fighting in the roadway. The officer reportedly found Mullican walking on Evins Mill Road.

 

Mullican was allegedly cursing and refusing to cooperate with the lawman. As the cursing grew louder, the officer asked Mullican several times to calm down. He refused, and was arrested for disorderly conduct and brought to the jail for booking.

 

His bond was set at $1,500, and he will appear in court on August 27.

 

32-year-old Johnathon Kyle McCormick and 31-year-old Jarrett Manning were both charged with theft of property over $10,000 on July 17.

 

The men were arrested on Friday, July 17. The sheriff said that McCormick and Manning took several pieces of jewelry from a home in the Seven Springs Community without the owner's consent between Feb. 1 and March 7. The total value of the jewelry was estimated at $21,355. The case was investigated by a Sheriff's department detective.

 

Bond for both men was set at $5,000 and they will appear in court on July 23.

 

30-year-old Rhonda Joy Goff was charged with introduction of drugs into a penal institution on July 17.Sheriff Ray said that Goff turned herself in at the jail to serve a weekend on another offense, and when asked by a detective if she had any any contraband on her person, she admitted to having drugs in a bodily cavity. Goff allegedly produced a blue balloon containing four-and-one-half Suboxone pills and turned it over to a female correctional officer.

 

Her bond was set at $10,000, and she will appear in court on Aug. 27.

 

Jesus Arellano Vega of Murfreesboro was charged with driving under the influence and cited for driving on a suspended license, violation of the financial responsibility law, driving on roadways laned for travel, and violation of the implied consent law on July 18.

 

Ray said a deputy stopped a car driven by Vega for crossing the white emergency line multiple times, and while speaking with the man the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol on his person. His eyes were allegedly watery and bloodshot, and his speech was slurred.

 

Vega tried to perform field sobriety tasks but had difficulty understanding and following instructions. He admitted to having consumed several beers after work, and refused to submit to a blood test. Vega was placed under arrest.

 

His bond was set at $1,500 and he will appear in court on Sept. 24.
