Jose Arias, 30 was charged with violation of conditional release on May 29.
According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, Arias, who was incarcerated at the jail, called the victim in a domestic violence case in which he was involved, and asked her to come and make his bond. Ray said Arias knew his bond conditions prohibited him from contacting the victim.
His bond is $5,000 and his court date is June 8.
Billy Wayne Rodgers, 37, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon on May 30.
The sheriff said a detective went to Short Mountain Highway with state probation officers to speak with Rodgers. During a probation search of the home, a Winchester .22 caliber rifle was discovered. Rodgers was convicted of a felony drug charge in Putnam County in May, 2015, and is prohibited from possessing the weapon.
His bond is $5,000 and his court date is June 15.
Paul Edgar Rowland, 56, was charged with domestic assault on May 30.
Ray said a deputy responded to a residence on Hawkins Drive due to a domestic call, where Rowland’s stepson allegedly told the lawman that Rowland grabbed his arm, turned him around, and spat in his face. He said he pushed Rowland away from him, but Rowland confronted him again and began hitting him in the face. The victim went outside the residence but Rowland allegedly chased him down and continued to hit him.
His bond is $2,500 and his court date is June 15.
Brian Alan King, 29, of Murfreesboro was charged with driving under the influence and issued citations for failure to maintain lane of travel, violation of the open container law, and violation of financial responsibility for no insurance on June 3.
Ray said a deputy was dispatched to the area of Nashville Highway due to a possible reckless driver. The officer spotted a red Dodge Stratus and noticed that the driver failed to maintain his lane of travel. The deputy stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, King, who allegedly had a strong odor of alcohol on his person, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. He was reportedly unsteady on his feet and performed poorly on field sobriety tasks. The sheriff said the officer found several open containers of alcohol in the automobile, and King later admitted to having had too much to drink to be driving.
His bond is $1,500 and his court date is June 15.
Blake Stephen Edmondson, 33, of Cookeville was charged with driving under the influence and cited for driving on roadways laned for travel on June 4.
The sheriff said a deputy stopped Edmondson’s vehicle for failure to maintain his lane of travel, and while speaking to the man, noticed a strong odor of alcohol on his person. His speech was reportedly slurred, and his eyes watery. Edmondson allegedly admitted to having consumed some alcoholic beverages earlier in the night, and submitted to, but performed poorly on, field sobriety tasks.
His bond is $1,500 and his court date is June 22.
