Mika Shane Couch, 31, was arrested on Sept 8 and charged with aggravated assault after he allegedly broke his girlfriend’s sternum.
According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, a deputy spoke to a woman at the emergency room on Sept. 8, and she told him that three days earlier she and her boyfriend, Couch, were arguing when he grabbed her by the arms and slammed her down on a bed. The woman also said that couch twisted her leg, causing major swelling to her knee.
The alleged victim said that she was having chest pains, which were getting worse, so she went to the hospital for treatment on 9-8. Medical personnel confirmed that her sternum was broken, and that she had numerous bruises on her body.
His bond was set at $7,500, and he will appear in court on Sept. 29.
Then, on Sept. 11, Couch was charged with violation of bond conditions after a deputy responded to a Cookeville Highway home to check out a 911 open line. The deputy made contact with Couch and the same female victim. A check revealed that bond conditions were in place prohibiting Couch from being near the victim. Bond onj the second charge was set at $10,000, and the court date is Sept. 29.
Rosendo Garcia Martinez, 45, of McMinnville was arrested on Sept. 4 and charged with DUI) first offense) and cited for driving on a suspended license, an open container, and driving on roadways laned for travel.
Ray said deputy dispatched to check out reports of a possible intoxicated driver in a white pickup made contact with a vehicle matching the description driving in the middle of the roadway. The officer stopped the truck and found Martinez to be the driver. He reportedly had glossy, bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and was unsteady on his feet. He submitted to but performed poorly on field sobriety tasks,
His bond was set at $1,500, and he will appear in court on Sept 19.
Madison Hope Hayes, 18, was arrested on Sept. 10 and charged with underage driving while impaired.
The sheriff said a deputy received a call about a suspicious vehicle parked at a residence. The officer arrived at the scene and made contact with Hayes, who was allegedly passed out in a GMC Sierra, which was running with the headlights on in a driveway.
Upon speaking to the Hayes, the deputy reportedly noticed that she was unsteady on her feet, had bloodshot eyes, and a strong odor of alcohol on her person. She reportedly performed poorly on field sobriety tasks, and submitted to a blood test.
Her bond was set at $1,500, and she will appear in court on Sept. 29.
