Man charged with assault, escape
Two women face assault charges

Michael Pierre Napier Rose, 30, of Capshaw Road was charged with aggravated assault, vandalism, and escape, as well as for other outstanding warrants for violation of General Sessions Court probation, worthless checks, and two counts of failure to appear on Aug. 3..

 

According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, Rose pulled another man off a horse and threatened to kill him with a knife, placing the victim in fear of his life. When Rose was taken into custody he allegedly pulled the inside back door panel off the patrol car, breaking the window locks.

 

He then escaped from the back seat of the patrol car and attempted to flee from custody, but was quickly apprehended. While his bonds total $23,500, he is being held without bond on the failure to appear warrants. He will appear in court on Aug. 28.

 

David Ray Johnson, 51, was charged with theft of property under $500.on July 29 for an alleged December 1, 2013 theft.

 

Ray said Johnson took and then sold a yellow tilt trailer for $175 without the victim's consent. His bond was set at $1,500, and he will appear in court on Aug. 25.

 

Amanda Gail Maxwell, 30, of Smithville and 35-year-old Sherry Kay Malone of Watertown were charged with assaulting another woman on July 30.

 

The sheriff said that Malone and Maxwell assaulted their victim by kicking her in the head and punching her repeatedly about the body during an altercation . Bond was set at $5,000 for both women, and they will appear in court on Aug. 14.

 

Tonya Amber Marie Audas, 30, of Dowelltown was charged with driving under the influence on July 31.

 

Ray said a sheriff's department detective was called to the Dollar General Store in Dowelltown to check out a complaint of an intoxicated woman. He spoke with Audas as she was putting two small daughters in her vehicle. Audas allegedly appeared to have been on an intoxicant.

 

She reportedly submitted to, but performed poorly on, field sobriety tasks. She also submitted to a blood test. According to Sheriff Ray, Audas admitted to having taken Percocet, Valium, Adderall, and Klonopin.

 

Her bond is $1,500 and she will appear in court August 14.

 

Cynthia Gail Sorrell, 55, of Sparta was charged with public intoxication on Aug. 7.

 

The sheriff said a deputy was sent to a Lower Helton Road residence to investigate reports of an abduction . The officer quickly discovered that there had been no abduction after speaking with Sorrell, who allegedly said that she and a friend had gotten into a n arguement and that she was told to leave her friend's property, but she found that she couldn't leave because she had left her keys inside her friend's home.

 

Sorrell allegedly had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on her person and was unsteady on her feet. She admitted to consuming alcohol and was placed under arrest.

 

Her bond was set at $1,500 and she will appear in court on Aug. 14.

 

Michael Andrew Snyders, Jr., 25, was charged with assault on Aug. 2. Snyders allegedly assaulted another man by pushing him.

 

Snyders and the victim then began hitting each other and went to the ground wrestling. Snyders was determined to have been the primary aggressor.

 

His bond was set at $5,000, and he will appear in court on Aug. 14.
