A former Shiroki employee has been charged with harassment of two supervisors.According to Smithville Police Chief Randy Caplinger, 47-year-old William H. Bogle, Jr. of Smithville was fired in January, and has allegedly made verbal death threats via telephone on four separate occasions against two of the supervisors at the plant.The last occurrence reportedly took place on Tuesday, August 23.Bogle is under a $7,500 bond.Meanwhile, a 19-year-old Liberty man has been charged with underage consumption of alcohol, DUI, and evading arrest.Caplinger reports that an off duty police officer spotted someone riding an ATV east on Highway 70 between DeKalb Market and Kilgore's Restaurant on Aug. 19.The officer allegedly reported the incident to central dispatch and followed the four wheeler until it turned from Broad Street onto Anthony Avenue.Another Smithville Police Officer, who was on duty at the time, got behind the ATV, but the driver reportedly refused to stop, traveling from Anthony Avenue to Miller Road, and then to Georgia Lane.The driver, who was found to be Terry Lee Jones, III, crashed into a ditch on Georgia Lane, throwing him off the vehicle and into the street.Jones was apparently not seriously injured.In other city crime news, 24-year-old Jonathan Adam Rice was arrested on August 23 for evading arrest after allegedly hid from police underneath a bed.City police were reportedly dispatched to a residence on South Mountain Street to investigate suspicions of drug activity.No drugs were apparently found, but Rice, who had a capias and a violation of probation warrant against him, was found allegedly hiding under a bed in the residence.His bond is $1,500.Amanda Lynn McElrath of Carthage, 31, was reportedly arrested on Aug. 24 and charged with a third offense of driving on a suspended license.She was pulled over on Highway 70 in a traffic stop.Alberto Rojas Gonzales, 24, was pulled over in a traffic stop on South Congress Boulevard on Aug. 20 and charged with DUI and no drivers license. Lonnie Wheeler, 35, was arrested for DUI on Aug. 20 in a traffic stop on Hayes Street. John Judkins, 75, was arrested for driving on a revoked license on Aug. 24 after a traffic stop on South Congress Boulevard.Robert E. Ferguson was arrested for driving on a revoked license on Aug. 19 in a traffic stop on West Main Street.Sammy Gene Taylor, 50, was arrested on Aug. 20 for driving under the influence after being pulled over in a traffic stop on West Broad Street.
