A Smithville man was cited for DUI and charged with reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident after he was involved in two separate collisions on Highway 70 Wednesday. According to city police, 47-year-old Douglas Ferrell’s vehicle struck a 2003 Nissan Sentra driven by 23-year-old Macy Nokes near DeKalb County High School and continued east. Central dispatch reported receiving calls from witnesses who saw the car traveling at speeds of up to 70 miles and hour and nearly striking other vehicles.
