A Sparta man was treated for minor injuries after he hit a rock wall near Sligo Bridge Thursday.

According to Trooper Jason Cobble of the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Michael Stoglin, 35, was traveling west on highway 70 just east of Sligo Bridge when he failed to negotiate a curve in his 1998 Chevy S-10 pickup, left the roadway on the right and struck a rock embankment. Stoglin was cited for failure to exercise due care.

He was transported to Saint Thomas DeKalb Hospital by DeKalb EMS, where he was treated and released. Trooper Bobby Johnson, as well as members of the sheriff’s department, assisted Cobble at the scene.
