A Smithville man was arrested on Aug. 27 after allegedly being found by a Sheriff's Department Detective to be in possession of baggies of methamphetamine during a home probation visit. Terry Allen King, 37 of West Broad Street is charged with possession of methamphetamine for resale.
According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, a detective went to King's residence on West Broad Street with state probation and parole authorities. Upon arrival, the detective spoke with King, who is on probation.
King was reportedly holding a cigarette pack containing 10 small baggies in his hand. The baggies allegedly held a white substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.
Each baggie allegedly weighed .4 grams, and the total weight of all ten baggies combined was four grams. King was also found with $73 in cash, which was seized.
His bond was set at $25,000, and he will appear in court on Sept. 24.
William A. Osborne, 46, of Hendersonville was charged with aggravated burglary and theft of property over $1,000 in a 2009 break-in.
Ray said Osborne entered a residence on Short Mountain Highway on March 19, 2009. He allegedly gained entry by prying open the back door, and took five long guns, a buck knife with a case, a laptop computer, and a jug containing change.
The total value of the stolen goods is approximately $3,150. The case was investigated by a sheriff's department detective, who took a warrant against Osborne on March 20, 2009, but he was only picked up recently after being incarcerated by the Tennessee Department of Corrections for other offenses.
His bond is set at $75,000.
Paul Jerome Grizzle, 49, was charged with aggravated assault on Aug. 28.
The sheriff said Grizzle assaulted his girlfriend by throwing a glass coffee pot at her, which broke and cut her leg. His bond is set at $5,000.
Stephen Hunter Pugh, 30, has been charged with failure to appear.
Ray said Pugh failed to appear at the sheriff's department to serve his court-ordered weekend sentence on July 31.
His bond was set at $1,500, and he will appear in court on Sept. 24.
Jessie Eugene Thomas, 37, of Dowelltown was charged with filing a false report on Sept. 1.
Ray said a deputy went to Thomas' home to serve a warrant on his girlfriend, and Thomas told the officer that she was not there. When she turned herself in on Sept. 1, however, the woman allegedly told the deputy that she had been at Thomas' home the day he arrived to serve the warrant.
His bond was set at $5,000, and he will appear in court on Sept. 24.
