Lonnie Lynn Wheeler, 36, was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident on April 11 after calling authorities to rescue him from the same wooded area he had fled into.
Wheeler allegedly crashed a red Toyota pickup truck into a driveway on Highway 70 causing damage to property, then fled the scene.
Wheeler's truck was reportedly found at the intersection of Brent Taylor Road and Highway 70.
A passenger in the truck told deputies that Wheeler was the driver and that he had fled the scene on foot.
Later that evening Wheeler reportedly placed a 911 call from his cell phone and told the dispatcher that he was lost in the woods in the Midway Road area.
The Rescue Squad and TWRA eventually located Wheeler in the woods, and the sheriff's department took him into custody.
His bond is $1,500 and he will be in court May 3.
Meanwhile, a 25-year-old Cookeville man was arrested and charged with burglary and theft of property over $1,000 on April 20.
According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, Brandon Troy Hayes cut the lock off a building on Hamby Hill Road and broke in on Nov. 7 of last year.
Hayes allegedly stole a power washer, a drill, a chainsaw, a circular saw, a leaf blower, and several other items.
The total value of the reported items is more than $1,000.
Sheriff's department detectives investigating the case determined that Hayes was responsible for the theft.
His bond was set at $10,000, and he will be in court April 26.
Robert E. Palmer, 61, of Murfreesboro was charged with violation of an order of protection on April 20.
Palmer's vehicle was reportedly seen parked in front of the Shady Place home of a person who had an order of protection against him.
Deputies say Palmer was outside of his vehicle, standing on the victim's porch.
The resident reportedly became frightened and ran to a neighbor's house to call 911 when Palmer stepped onto the porch.
Authorities allegedly found a 12-gauge shotgun and ammunition in Palmer's vehicle.
His bond is $2,500 and he will be in court May 3.
Caleb Isaiah Rigsby was charged with driving on a suspended license, theft of property under $500, and was cited for not wearing a seatbelt on April 19.
Ray said that Rigsby was operating a motor vehicle on Old Mill Hill Road when he was stopped by a deputy for a seat belt violation.
A computer check revealed that his license had been suspended on April 22, 2010 in Warren County for failure to satisfy a citation.
In a separate case, Rigsby allegedly stole several pieces of scrap metal with a total value of less than $500 on O'Conner Lane and sold them to a local recycling center on April 19.
His bonds total $3,000, and he will be in court June 14.
Joe Allen Ferrell, 41, was charged with driving on a suspended license on April 18.
According to Ray, Ferrell was known to have cases pending in General Sessions Court for driving on a suspended license, and was seen driving away from the courthouse by a deputy.
Ferrell had reportedly just been advised by Judge Bratten Cook, II not to drive until his license was reinstated.
Ferrell’s bond, which was originally set at $2,500, was increased to $20,000.
Brandon Ross Bogle, 29, was arrested on April 10 and charged with three counts of violation of probation and one count of driving on a revoked license.
A sheriff's department drug detective who had prior knowledge that Bogle's license was revoked allegedly saw him operating a motor vehicle on Short Mountain Highway.
The detective reportedly stopped the vehicle and a computer check revealed that Bogle's license had been revoked for driving under the influence on July 14, 2011 in Wilson County.
His bonds total $2,250 and he will be in court April 19.
