Billy Joe Brimer has been charged with aggravated assault.

A man who brandished a stick and threatened to use it on a police officer was tased and now faces felony assault charges.
The man, Bobby Joe Brimer, 65, of Dearman Street has been charged with aggravated assault, assault, and resisting arrest.
The incident began when police responded to an unwanted guest at a residence on East Main Street. Upon arrival the officer saw Brimer headed for the woods. The officer announced himself, prompting the man to turn on him.
“The suspect turned around yelling, cussing, and advanced toward the officer with a stick in his hand and indicated that he would use it on the officer,” the police report reads.
The lawman tased Brimer, dropping him in his tracks. However, when the officer tried to cuff him he resisted by trying to pull away. A deputy arrived at the scene and assisted the officer in cuffing him and he was placed in custody. 
“EMS was called to the Police Department to check Brimer due to the officer tasing him and while he was sitting in the back of the ambulance he started yelling, cussing, and threatened one of the Paramedics,” the report reads. “An officer went to the back of the ambulance to take Brimer out and back into the police department when he attacked the officer by pushing him from the back of the ambulance.” 
Brimer was taken to the ground where he continued to fight the officers until they were able to subdue him and take him back into the Police Department.
