A man has been hit with felony assault charges after he allegedly broke into a woman’s home and held a knife to her throat.The suspect, Rickey Lynn Martin, 37, is charged with aggravated assault. He could face three to six years in prison if convicted of the felony offense.Smithville Police were called to a residence on Restview Avenue to investigate a domestic call. When they arrived, the female victim told them she had been assaulted by Martin.“Officers were informed by the victim that Martin had forced his way into her home, ransacked her house and held a knife to her throat.”She further told police that Martin threatened to kill her if she did not shut up.Martin fled the scene before police arrived but was later taken into custody without further incident.He is being held under $35,000 bond and is due in court tomorrow.
