caseys cove wreck

According to Trooper Chris Delong of the Tennessee Highway Patrol, A Hendersonville woman was airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center after being pinned between her truck and a stump Wednesday morning.

A preliminary report from the THP said 41-year-old Krystal McFall’s front tire dropped off the roadway on Old Casey Cove Road while she was driving in a 2006 Ford pickup just before 8 a.m., with her 5-year-old son as a passenger. McFall reportedly stopped the truck, exited the vehicle, and attempted to place a board under the rear tire to get traction.

As the truck started further down the embankment, however, and McFall apparently ran alongside and tried get back inside and stop the Ford. The truck reportedly struck a house and a tree stump, pinning her partially outside the vehicle.

The 5-year-old then ran approximately ½ mile for help. McFall was taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, where she was listed in stable condition. The boy was not hurt.

Pending the outcome of the investigation, charges may be pending against McFall, who has a revoked driver’s license.
