A Dowelltown man charged with ten counts of forgery last week has had two more counts added.
Matthew Adam Cubbins, 21, has been charged with two more counts of forgery. Sheriff Patrick Ray said that Cubbins passed two checks stolen from a family member in the amounts of $200 each at the Liberty Stop N Buy Market on June 13.
While his bond was set at $5,000 on the newest charges, and he will make a court appearance on July 21, He is under a $25,000 bond on the ten previous counts of forgery, which occurred from May 25 through June 7.
Johnny Darrell Murphy, 45, has been charged with theft of property over $1,000 and bringing contraband into a penal institution.
The sheriff said that Murphy stole a 1990 WW two-horse trailer valued at $1,200 on May 29 and sold it. The trailer was recovered.
Then, while reporting to jail for another offense on June 23, a Correctional Officer noticed that a lump in Murphy’s sock. The officer asked Murphy to remove the sock, and a small plastic bag containing a substance believed to be marijuana was found inside.
Murphy’s bond was set at $6,500, and he will appear in court on June 30.
