A Smithville man was sentenced in Warren County Circuit Court recently on charges that he attempted to lure an underage girl into a sexual encounter via Internet.

Mickael Flyn Mosley, 18, was given a four-year term, but will serve only two months after entering a guilty plea to exploitation of a minor by electronic means and solicitation of a minor for reasons of statutory rape. Mosely will also be listed on the Tennessee Sexual Offender Registry.

McMinnville Police charged that Mosley tried to get the girl, who is reportedly under 13 years of age, to meet him to have sex while communicating through social media. The girl's mother, was apparently using a computer application to monitor the daughter's online activity, and reported the incident to police after the correspondence between Mosley and the child was discovered.

When authorities confronted Mosley he reportedly confessed to planning a meeting with the girl.
