A mother caught drunk driving with her 3-year-old child in the car has been charged with reckless endangerment.

April Lynn Anderson, 34, of Tobbit Road in Warren County is charged with driving under the influence and reckless endangerment. Her bond has been set at $6,500 and her court date is March 8. According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, a deputy responded to a stranded motorist call and found the vehicle on East Broad Street in Smithville.

“He stopped and spoke with the driver,” Ray revealed. “Her three-year-old daughter was in the back seat.”

The deputy noticed that Anderson’s speech was slurred and that her eyes were red and watery.

“Anderson admitted to the officer that she had taken some medication earlier in the day,” Patrick said, noting she submitted to field sobriety tasks but did poorly and was arrested.
