A panel of Motlow State Community College professors will celebrate Constitution Day by leading the discussion, “First Amendment Challenges in the 21st Century” on Thursday, Sept. 14. The forum will take place inside Eoff Hall, in Powers Auditorium on the Moore County campus from 11 a.m. – 12:20 p.m., and is open to the public.

Dr. David Bowlby, associate professor of history and political science at Motlow, will present "Having a Right vs. Being Right,” Dr. Lucy Craig, associate professor of criminal justice at Motlow, will present "First and Second Amendments: When Rights Collide," and Dr. Scott Cook, vice president for quality assurance and performance funding and professor of history, will discuss "Right Talk: Practical Limits to Freedom of Speech."

"This is the college's 12th annual Constitution Day panel," said Dr. Cook. "The purpose of the event is to encourage discussion and free exchange of ideas about a constitutional issue that is relevant and that will promote critical thought.”
