Mr. and Miss DeKalb County High School have been named and now Homecoming can begin in earnest.
Mr. DeKalb County High School is Tyree Hollis Cripps, son of Scott and Gena Cripps of Smithville. Cripps is the DCHS class president, Beta President, FBLS president and Climate Crew vice-president. He was named the most outstanding male in his class in 2015, 2016 and 2017. Cripps also is in the 21 Plus Club in the ACT Club.
Cripps attends the Smithville Church of Christ and is very active in all of his youth events. After graduation he plans to attend a four-year college to major in Education with a goal of working for the government in the Department of Education.
Named Miss DeKalb County High School is Breanna Leigh Gibson, daughter of Erin and Shelly Gibson of Dowelltown. She is a member of the Spanish Club, Science Club, Senior Beta, Literature Club and HOSA. She is the football cheer captain and is a four-year cheerleader making NCA All-American in her sophomore year. She’s been named the class favorite, junior usher, Rotary Youth Leadership awards alumni, Class Secretary and Chemistry Olympiad.
Gibson is a member of the Salem Baptist Church.
