A rear-end crash on Allen Ferry Road involving three vehicles resulted in no serious injuries Saturday. According to Trooper Bobby Johnson of the THP, Melanie Stansberry, 40 was traveling west in a 2001 Chevy Tahoe when she stopped because another vehicle stopped in front of her. Following Stansberry’s Tahoe was a 2012 Chevy Equinox driven by Betty Davis, 66. Close behind Davis was a 2006 Kia Spectra, driven by Joey Redmon, 38. The trooper said that Redmon failed to stop with the other vehicles, hitting Davis’ Equinox in the rear and knocking it into the rear of Mrs. Stansberry’s Tahoe. Davis, Stansberry and her passenger, 46-year-old William Stansberry escaped without injury. According to Trooper Johnson, Redmon said his vision was obstructed by the sun. Redmon was transported to Saint Thomas DeKalb Hospital, and was issued citations for failure to exercise due care and financial responsibility.
