A man wanted for embezzlement in Oklahoma was arrested by the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department Friday.
Rodney Scott Anderson, 44, of Duncan City, Oklahoma was charged with being a fugitive from justice after a deputy on a routine traffic stop discovered his identity.
According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, Anderson was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by a deputy on Highway 70 on April 27.
Once his identity was checked through the National Crime Information Center, it was revealed that Anderson was wanted in Jefferson County, Oklahoma on charges of embezzlement.
His bond is $50,000, and he will be in court May 3.
Meanwhile, Smithville Police have charged a 41-year-old Michelle Byars with four counts of forgery.
According to Police Chief Randy Caplinger, an officer arresting Byars on a failure to appear warrant on March 29 found her to be in possession of a check belonging to another person.
An investigation allegedly revealed that she had stolen several checks belonging to this person.
Byars reportedly forged the name of this other woman on at least four checks, passing three at Save-A-Lot and another at Ace Hardware.
Her bond is $6,000.
The sheriff's department arrested 54-year-old Gregory Scott Redmon and charged him with theft of property under $500 on April 26.
Redmon reportedly went onto property on Old Snow Hill Road and took an octagon-shaped flower pot, valued at less than $500, from a home there.
His bond is $1,500 and he will be in court May 3.
Jason Allen Moseley, 31, has been arrested by city police and charged with two counts of theft of property over $500.
Chief Caplinger reports that on Wednesday, April 4, Police investigating complaints that small utility trailers had been stolen from two different homes on Jennings Lane reportedly discovered that the trailers had been sold to a pawn shop in McMinnville.
The trailers were recovered and Moseley was arrested for the theft.
His bond is $5,000.
The sheriff's department also arrested Moseley on April 11 in another recent theft case.
Moseley allegedly broke into a shed on New Bildad Road on March 28, taking a riding mower, a weedeater, a leaf blower, a power washer, two propane fish fryers, two propane tanks, a black plastic tool box, and a battery charger.
The total value of the stolen items in that case is $3,047.
The sheriff's department charged Mosely with theft of property over $1,000 and burglary.
His bond on those charges is $23,000 and he will be in court on April 26.
Royce Avon Foster, 42, was arrested by deputies on April 27 and charged with theft of services.
According to the sheriff, Foster obtained electricity from Caney Fork Electric Cooperative without paying for it.
Foster reportedly had an illegal electric service box connected to his home.
The value of the allegedly stolen electricity has been estimated at $505
His bond is $3,500 and he will be in court on May 3.
Tisha Burns, 41, was charged with simple possession of Schedule II, IV and VI controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia on April 22.
Caplinger said that Burns was stopped for a traffic violation on Sunday, April 22, and after the officer received consent to search the vehicle he found a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana and a pipe believed to have been used to smoke it.
Nine xanax pills and three roxycodone pills were also reportedly found.
She will be in court May 17.
28 year old Billy Dewayne Elliott,28, was charged with domestic assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, and simple possession of a schedule IV drug on April 28.
Elliott allegedly assaulted a female at Redneck Beach on Holmes Creek Road by picking her up and slamming her to the ground while she was trying to break up a fight between Elliott and a family member.
A man who had came to the woman's defense also reportedly suffered bruises and cuts after being hit in the face by Elliott, who was intoxicated.
Deputies who responded to the scene said that Elliot also rammed his vehicle into his brother's truck with someone inside, putting campers and their children in danger.
After placing him under arrest, authorities reportedly found a plastic bag containing ten half-pills and four whole xanax pills in his front pocket.
His bond is $10,000 and he will be in court on June 21.
Phillip Davis, 51, was charged with shoplifting after allegedly taking merchandise while doing electrical work at the Dollar General Store on April 4.
According to Caplinger, city police were called to the store, and the officer was informed by the manager that a man who had been doing electrical work on the building had allegedly taken an item from the store without paying for it.
Camera surveillance and a witness reportedly confirmed the accusation, and Davis allegedly confessed to the theft when confronted.
His bond is $1,500 and he will be in court April 26.
Christopher Lloyd Stanford, 32, was charged with domestic assault on April 29.
Sheriff Ray said that Stanford assaulted a woman, allegedly hitting her in the mouth with his fist and choking her.
Another woman also reportedly suffered injuries while trying to help the woman.
Stanford's bond is $2,500, and he will be in court on May 17.
Barry Gibbs, 30, was arrested by city police and charged him with evading arrest on April 10.
The chief said that city police with prior knowledge that Gibbs had warrants out for his arrest in Warren and Macon counties spotted him at Walmart.
When police confronted Gibbs, he reportedly tried to flee but was quickly apprehended and taken into custody.
His bond is $2,500.
Sean William Cavanaugh was charged with public intoxication, assault, and criminal trespassing on April 23.
Sheriff Ray reports that on Monday, April 23, Cavanaugh visited a residence on Oak Drive where Cavanaugh tried to fight the man who lived there in the yard.
The man and his wife allegedly asked Cavanaugh several times to leave the property but he refused. The man then reportedly took Cavanaugh to the ground and held him there until police arrived. Police said Cavanaugh left his vehicle in the street, blocking the roadway to keep anyone from leaving.
Officers found Cavanaugh to be very intoxicated with a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his person, and to be very unsteady on his feet.
His bond is $4,500 and he will be in court June 7.
Melissa Webb, 28, was cited for shoplifting on April 17.
Chief Caplinger said that an officer called to Walmart learned that an employee had seen Webb taking items from the store into a restroom.
When she came out of the restroom, the witness said that none of the items could be seen on her.
The restroom was searched and several empty containers were allegedly found.
Webb was confronted and reportedly admitted to taking the items, which were found in her purse.
Her court date is May 10.
Lyndsey Davenport, 22, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia on April 18.
Caplinger said that an officer responding to on an unwanted guest call on Pack Circle confronted Davenport in the street.
The officer obtained consent to search, and found hypodermic needles and straws used to sniff drugs in her purse.

She will be in court on May 10.
Michael Andrew Snyders, 26, was charged with a second offense of driving on a revoked license and felony evading arrest on April 23.
He was also cited for speeding, reckless driving, and improper passing.
He was allegedly traveling 70 MPH in a 55 MPH zone, driving on both sides of the roadway and passing cars on double yellow lines.
According to the sheriff, when a deputy tried to stop Snyders on Highway 70, he pulled over to the side of the road as if he were stopping, but he accelerated and turned down West Main Street in Liberty then to Highway 53 where the pursuit was terminated.
A bystander told the deputy that Snyders went down Green Hill Road in Liberty.
After the deputy located Snyders and stopped him, a computer check reportedly revealed his license to be revoked for driving under the influence on March 10, 2006 in DeKalb County.
His bond is $7,500 and he will be in court on May 3.
Jennifer Koon, 21, was charged with driving under the influence on April 19.
The police chief said that an officer dispatched to South Congress Boulevard to investigate reports of an intoxicated driver spotted the suspect vehicle traveling at 54 MPH in a 40 MPH zone.
When the officer stopped the vehicle, it was reportedly being driven by Koon, who allegedly had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on her person.
She reportedly submitted to, but performed poorly on field sobriety tasks, and was placed under arrest.
Her bond is $1,500.
Jamie Edward Carroll, 32, was taken into custody and charged with three counts of a fourth offense of driving on a revoked license.
Carroll was reportedly released on an own recognizance bond the day of the arrest.
Later that evening, a sheriff's department detective stopped Carroll on Old Mill Hill Road and issued him a citation for a fourth offense of driving on a revoked license.
Two days later on April 28, Carroll was stopped on College Street in Smithville for failure to maintain lane of travel.
He was again charged with driving on a revoked license.
He has three other cases of driving on a revoked license pending against him in court.
His bond is $10,000 and he will be in court on May 10.
Earl Joseph Yost, 55, of Sparta is charged with public intoxication on april 27.
Ray said that Yost was walking in the roadway on Highway 70 when a deputy stopped to make a welfare check and found him to be very unsteady on his feet with a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his person.
His bond is $1,500 and he will be in court on May 10.
Jerry Eugene Kirby, 41, of Baxter was charged with public intoxication on April 27.
A deputy answered a domestic violence call at a business on Highway 70 reportedly found Kirby trying to get into a vehicle.
He allegedly had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his person and was unsteady on his feet.
His bond is $1,500 and he will be in court June 7.
