One person was injured in a two-car collision on Highway 56 South last week. Trooper Bobby Johnson of the Tennessee Highway Patrol said Jerry Holley, 62, of Rock Island was traveling south on Sept. 20 in a 1998 Chevy Silverado when he hit a 1982 GMC pickup that was stopped making a left turn into a private driveway. The GMC was driven by a 16-year-old-male. Holley was not injured, but the younger man was transported to the hospital by DeKalb EMS. Holley was reportedly cited for failure to exercise due care. Members of the DeKalb EMS, the Sheriff's Department, and County Fire Department assisted at the scene.
