A convicted felon whose home was raided two weeks ago now faces a mountain of narcotics and firearms charges after lawmen found a cache of guns and drugs in his home.
Patterson, 29, of Toad Road in Dowelltown is charged with five counts of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, possession, sale or manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and casual exchange of drugs. He is also charged burglary and theft for kicking in the door to a Dowelltown business on June 10 and stealing a 10-gauge Mossberg shotgun.
Patterson has been behind bars since June 20 when officers showed up at his door with a search warrant. The warrant was obtained after he allegedly sold drugs.
“Through their investigation, Sheriff’s Department detectives found that Patterson, who is a convicted felon, was in possession of firearms at his home. As a safety precaution, the THP Special Operations Unit was summoned to assist in the search of the home. The THP Special Operations Unit made a forcible entry into the home after no one came to the door. Patterson finally gave himself up along with another male and female who were at the residence. No one was injured," said Sheriff Patrick Ray.
Officers found a bounty of drugs and paraphernalia during their subsequent search.
“Upon searching Patterson’s residence, Sheriff’s Department officers found 15 grams of methamphetamine, six ounces of marijuana (found under the house), an assortment of prescription pills, one rifle, two shotguns, three pistols, digital scales, glass pipes, and possible stolen power tools. Detectives also seized $427.00 in cash," the sheriff added.
As for the guns, lawmen found a 380 Lorcin handgun, an Archangel 7.52 caliber rifle, a Bersa 380 caliber handgun, a Ruger 22 caliber handgun, and a double barrel shotgun.
Patterson is set for arraignment July 12.
