Stephen Anthony Patterson, 38, was arrested on Feb. 20 and charged with driving under the influence, third offense; driving while in possession of methamphetamine; sale or process methamphetamine, controlled substance, schedule IV; and contraband into a penal institution.
Patterson accumulated the charges after a sheriff’s deputy responded to a call about a vehicle sitting at a stop sign for a lengthy amount of time. When the deputy approached the vehicle, the driver allegedly pulled onto the highway and went into the oncoming lane eventually stopping at a residence. The deputy noticed the driver, Patterson, slumped over. Believing he may be under the influence, the deputy administered field sobriety tasks which Patterson performed poorly. When searching Patterson, a metal container containing baggies was found in his right front pocket, which contained .93 grams of methamphetamine and 43 and one-half pills believed to be Xanax. A sum of $467 was also found on Patterson. While being booked into the jail, a correctional officer found a black baggie in Patterson’s hoodie containing more than 99 Xanax.
He was also written citations for failure to maintain lane of travel and stopping/parking in prohibited places.
His total bond was $21,000, and he is to appear in court March 9.
