The Smithville Municipal Pool is set to open on Memorial Day, May 28.According to golf course and pool operator Tony Poss, repairs should be completed on the pool by opening day, and the golf course is cleaned up from recent storms and ready to roll.“We have a guy coming to start work on the pool tomorrow (Tuesday), and the golf course is in good shape,” Poss told the Review Monday. “We had a lot of damage from the storm, several trees were down and the place was pretty torn up, but we are back on track.”The facility will offer many activities this summer, including the ReMax longest drive qualifier on May 12.“Everyone should come out and see this,” Poss said. “These guys can really rip.”Other activities will include tennis instruction, a weekly “Mommy and Me” swim day for mothers and their children, a summer camp will be held, with tennis, golf, and fishing from the stocked ponds on the property.For more info call 597-6648.
