Dam2520Overlook252011
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District and Thalle Construction Company, construction contractor, will discuss upcoming blasting operations near Center Hill Dam during a public meeting 5:30 p.m. May 9 at the Resource Manager’s Shop Conference Room located just below the dam at 158 Resource Lane in Lancaster, Tenn. The blasting operations are part of the dam safety work necessary to construct a concrete reinforcing berm downstream of the Center Hill Auxiliary Dam and to stabilize rock cut slopes in the left rim southwest of the dam. While the meeting is open to the public, only those who live in the immediate area and/or drive near the dam on a consistent basis should be affected.
