The 18th annual American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life enjoyed a large turnout Friday. The event, held at Greenbrook Park, was filled with people who turned out to show support in the battle against cancer. The theme of this year’s Relay was “Cancer: Not here, Not there, Not anywhere." The opening ceremony included presentation of the Colors by Boy Scout Troop #347, Suzanne Slager performing the National Anthem, a welcome by Renea Cantrell, and a song honoring cancer survivors by Shelley Cross and Bonnie Rigsby. Many singers and church groups performed, along with a performance by Darrin Vincent and daughter Victoria. The opening ceremony included presentation of the Colors by Boy Scout Troop #347, the National Anthem performed by Suzanne Slager, welcoming remarks by Renea Cantrell and a song in honor of cancer survivors by Shelley Cross and Bonnie Rigsby.
