A 63-year-old Liberty man was injured when he lost control of his pickup and hit a utility pole on a stretch of Short Mountain Highway in the same spot as a previous mishap the week before. According to THP investigator Trooper William Jackson, Robert Rhodes was traveling north on Short Mountain Highway last Wednesday when his 2010 Ford F150 ran off the right side of roadway, struck a ditch, and hit a utility pole. The vehicle came to rest after striking the pole at 9:45 a.m. Rhodes, who was injured in the accident, was cited for failing to exercise due caution and was wearing his safety restraint device at the time.
