Mr. Claus visited Alexandria Sunday.

 

Jolly old Saint Nick has once again passed through DeKalb County. The elf appeared at the Alexandria Christmas Parade Sunday tossing candy to kids young and old.

 

Ms. Brown Lawrence served as Grand Marshal, and the procession featured local veterans, State Representative Terri Lynn Weaver, the DCHS and Watertown High School bands, floats antique cars and horse-drawn buggies.

 

Charles Cantrell’s 1956 Corvette took first place in the vintage car category, with Randy Murphy’s 1956 Bel Air receiving second place. The third place award went to Dayton Jamison’s 1990 Mustang.

 

Wilson Bank and Trust was the first-place winner in the float category. The Mount Zion Baptist Church float took second and third place went to the Middle Tennessee Taekwondo float.

 

Cody Hale’s 1952 John Deere MT was awarded first place for best tractor.

 

Robert Lee’s horse-drawn cart got a first place ribbon, while Grady George’s mule-drawn wagon took second. Third place went to Randy Slager’s horse-drawn wagon.
