The Board of Education will meet in a special session at 7 p.m. on July 16 in hopes of naming a new director of schools. Board members discussed procedures for the selection of a new director during a workshop last week, and will hold another workshop on July 9 at 5:30 p.m. before their regular monthly meeting, at 7 p.m. They plan to decide the length of the contract offered, among other terms, and decide on a starting salary. Many members feel that the director should be paid around $85,000 per year, an almost $20,000 cut from the previous director’s pay.
