The search for Rossetti had been ongoing since Dec. 18.

A body believed to be that of Vincent “Vinnie” Rossetti, 22, of Peachtree City, Georgia, was found Tuesday morning near Sligo Marina on Center Hill Lake.

Members of the Smithville-DeKalb County Rescue Squad pulled the remains from the icy waters at the east end of the dock, and information found on body reportedly indicated that it is Rossetti. Authorities had been searching for the man since he was last seen on Dec. 18.

The search had been ongoing for Rossetti, and rescue squad members were assisted by volunteers from Florida and Georgia including the CUE Center for Missing Persons who brought in cadaver dogs last weekend.

Rossetti’s Lexus was found in the parking lot of Sligo Marina soon after his disappearance, and the search had been concentrated on that area. Sonar was used, and Wayne Hubbs performed an aerial search in his gyrocopter. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and the US Army Corps of Engineers joined in the search as well.

Rossetti was last seen after being found by a State Trooper near the DeKalb/White County line on Dec. 18. The trooper checked on a vehicle that was parked on the side of the roadway in White County, and the driver was found to be Rossetti, who was entered into the Georgia Crime Information Center as a missing person.

The Trooper called an ambulance to the scene to check Rossetti out, and White County EMS transported the man to Highland Medical Center in Sparta. One of the White County EMS workers reportedly drove Rossetti’s vehicle to the hospital for him.

Rossetti was treated and released from the hospital before his family could arrive to pick him up. Troopers located his vehicle at Sligo just before midnight on Dec. 18, but Rossetti was nowhere to be found.
